Aircraft manufacturer Fokker operates in the aerospace industry and specialises in the maintenance, modification and support of aircraft. Within both airport terminals and maintenance hangars, high-quality lighting is of crucial importance. Not only for the safety of staff and passengers, but also for the precision with which inspections and maintenance work are carried out.
In the aircraft terminal, the choice was made for the Pulsar Pro retrofit module by Deetronix. By reusing the existing trunking rails and equipping them with special connectors, the installation could be carried out quickly and efficiently. Each retrofit module was fitted with its own microwave sensor, allowing the luminaires to react individually to presence. This intelligent control resulted in an energy saving of no less than 78%.
The maintenance hangar was also modernised. Here, the lighting was upgraded to an average light level of 500 lux at floor level. This makes details more visible and allows maintenance and inspection work on aircraft to be carried out more accurately.
Thanks to the adjustable end caps, integrated DIP switches for power setting, fall protection and plug-and-play sensor technology, the installation was particularly efficient. The work could be carried out with minimal impact on daily operations, meaning Fokker experienced hardly any disruption from the lighting upgrade.
The result is a future-proof lighting solution that combines maximum energy efficiency with optimal light quality for critical aviation processes.
